Debbie was my little sister, twin of Tina and sister to Carol, Susan, the late Shelley and daughter of Tom and Jean Greenwood.
She died of cancer

Debbie was my lovely sister, she was bubbly and giggly and loving. She did not find much happiness in her adult life being abused by the men that claimed to love her.
In her desperation she turned to drink which led her on a downward slope to more misery.
She kept her sadness private though, we only saw her laughing. She had beautiful natural curls and a smile to melt any heart. She was a giver, and would shower her loved ones with gifts and beautiful cards. So much thought went into every gift. She was always a cuddler and loved to cuddle anybody.
She was a beautiful girl inside and out.
Debbie never got the chance to have children, she would have made a wonderful Mum, she was Auntie to many many nephews and nieces who all adored Auntie Debbie.
The world is a certainly not as bright without her in our lives and if you look in the sky tonight you will see the brightest one there and that is our Debbie.

I watched you walk out that door,
I didn't know that it would be the last time
The heat of the summer is gone,
and the chill of the winter is here
Every breath I take, and every tear I make
Turns to ice as it hits the ground...
I can't breathe for the first time
Everytime I close my eyes, I see your face.
Reminds me that I am alone in this place
Your memory still so deep in my mind,

Weird how you can watch something change,
and it all seems so fast,
What happened today has already changed into the past.
Photographs of you hanging on the walls,
Everything I can remember ended so fast,
All I have left are my memories....

Angel Of Christmas Cheer
I hear a flutter in the breeze
There is snow upon the ground
All the leaves have fallen
Not a single one to be found.
So it makes me ponder
On this lovely winter day
Could it be an angel?
In the snow at play?
I go ahead and build my snowman
I work with cheerful hands
Carrot nose and button eyes
To make him look so grand.
I think I hear a little giggle
A flutter in the breeze
I look up to see, who might be here
But it's, just my snowman and me.
With all this Yule time cheer
On my face I have a smile
Soon we will be singing songs
As we gather around the fire.
It's nearly time to go in
I'll soon be snug in bed
As I dream of sugar plums
Dancing in my head.
Now it's Christmas Morning
We gather around the tree
I look out the frost window
My eyes just can't believe!
A beautiful smile on my snowman
My hands could have never achieved
I walked the same snow prints
That I had made that very night.
Only one going to it, one coming back
As I look at the snowy base
I see a folded note;
Looking so mystified
With wonder on my face,
As I read the words
This is what it said,
"I enjoyed the wonderful evening
Seeing the joy your heart does hold,
But, there is more to this message
To you, that must be told.
Always remember...
The reason for this season
The night that Christ was born
All those that gathered
In the manger long ago.
Always remember His love and giving ways
Then you can have Christmas, every single day
And if you don't mind...

Just one little peek into heaven,
Is all I'm asking for today.
I just want to know how she's doing,
And heaven seems so far away.
Is she playing on the clouds with angels?
Is she laughing and running today?
Does she miss me?
I guess only she knows.

If you just let me look for a moment,
To catch a glimpse of her sweet smiling face,
I promise I won't try to take her,
I know, she's in a better place.

Laughter will still sound,

with some smiles, painted on.

The Lord woke up this morning with so much work to do
so many plans He has to make before the day is through.
He gathers all his angels. They stand close by his side
as each receive their saintly chores they spread their wings and fly.
The Lord looked up and realized his angels all were gone.
With so much work still left to do, He'd hire a new one on.
A million applications now lie upon his desk.
He reads each one so carefully until he finds the best.
Someone with all the qualities it takes to keep their faith.
Someone who seemed to always have a smile upon their face.
Someone who always tried to give a hand to those in need.
Unselfish love was all she knew, no room was left for greed.
And now the Lord has made his choice. He'll come for her today.
With wings that God alone can give, He smiles and flies away.
A single, fallen feather lies softly on the ground.
A sign sent down from heaven, Angel wings are homeward bound.
